Abstract :
The voltage drop on the power line is a loss in a conductor. The results of the analysis of the
voltage drop that occurred in the SM.05 Feeder can be used as a feasibility consideration by
PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Pematang Siantar for the development of JTM if there is an
additional load in the future. The method used in evaluating the voltage drop is a quantitative
method with ETAP software calculations and simulations. The condition of the voltage drop
at the end of the SM05 feeder line at LWBP is 10.03%, and at WBP is 16.92%. At the SM.05
feeder at the time of WBP there were losses of 1883.1023 kW and at the time of LWBP of
813.176 kW. To repair the voltage drop and power losses by using a capacitor at the end of
the line, where the voltage drop does not match the SPLN standard, namely, on Bus 340, bus
342, and Bus 344. On Bus 340 a capacitor with a capacity of 3190 kVAr is installed, on Bus
342 with a total of 2839 kVAr, and Bus 344 with a total of 1065 kVAr. After installing
capacitors on each bus so that the voltage drop on each bus decreases. With an average
increase in each bus of 9.2025%, so that the condition of the voltage drop at the end of the
feeder line at the time of LWBP after being strengthened with the installation of a capacitor is
1.53% with power losses of 615.935 kW. At the time of WBP of 8.31% with power losses of
1685.86 kW.
