Abstract :
Distribution substation is a substation or part of an electric power system that functions
to distribute, disconnect, divide, and control the electric power system from a voltage of
20 KV to 0.4 KV. The distribution substation consists of a transformer component which
is an electrical component to convert quantities from the incoming or primary side to
the secondary or outgoing side. Every electrical equipment has its own capacity limit,
just as a transformer also has a loading capacity. By using a quantitative research
method of correlation type to compare the results before and after the installation of the
substation insertion.. At the substation GT.PBG 021 a transformer with a capacity of
160 KVA is used. The transformer loading according to the provisions of SE DIR
017.E/DIR/2014 Online Assessment Tier 1 stage is charged at 80%. At the substation
GT.PBG 021 before the addition of the substation insertion, the magnitude of the load
was 175.026 KVA or 109.39% of the capacity of the transformer. This can reduce the
reliability of the electric power system, increase the temperature in the transformer so
that the transformer life is shorter. The solution for this is the addition of substations.
After adding the substation, the load on the substation GT.PBG 021 is reduced to 59.29
KVA or 37.05% of its capacity. The addition of a substation is a solution to the problem
of overload at a distribution substation, so that the distribution of electric power is
better.
