Abstract :
Electricity is a mandatory requirement for people to live their daily lives, therefore
electricity suppliers must ensure that the electricity supplied to consumers is of good
quality. One of the parameters that determine whether or not the electric voltage is good
is the level of system reliability. There are 3 levels of reliability of the electric power
system, namely: High Level of Reliability, Medium Level of Reliability, and Low Level
of Reliability. PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Pondok Gede really prioritizes customer
satisfaction so that PT. PLN (Persero) Pondok Gede sets a standard that must be achieved
every year, the parameter values are SAIDI and SAIFI. To improve the reliability of the
system, the electricity distribution network in the UP3 Pondok Gede area must supply
electrical energy continuously according to customer demand. What causes the level of
reliability to be low is frequent blackouts, blackouts can be caused by disturbances such
as extreme weather, damage to distribution substation components, or disturbance from
animals. To prevent these disturbances, PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Pondok Gede conducts
routine inspections using the ultrasonic testing method which can detect the presence of
partial discharges in the components of distribution substations, especially 20kV cubicles.
The result of using ultrasonic testing is an increase in distribution network reliability from
2020 to 2022 by: 96.88% for the SAIDI index, 60.03% for the SAIFI index, and 79.217%
for the CAIDI index. This can happen because the use of ultrasonic testing can prevent
serious interference from partial discharges which can cause blackouts in the Pondok
Gede area.
