Abstract :
Overcurrent faults, earth faults are the types of disturbances that will be discussed in
the 6.3 kV medium voltage system, the Auxiliary Transformer unit 3 located in the
PLTU UPK Tarahan area. To overcome these disturbances Overcurrent Relay (OCR),
Ground Fault Relay (GFR) and Differential Relay, the relay will give orders to the CB
to cut off the voltage. The short circuit current line to ground is the highest short circuit
fault of 26,830 kA, this disturbance is influenced by the total existing impedance. The
differential relay will work when an internal fault occurs, when there is a disturbance in
the external zone the differential relay works to overcome the disturbance. It takes 300
ms to read the fault on the differential relay for CB Trip simultaneously, 412 ms on the
outgoing side and 1521 ms on the incoming side of the OCR relay with 3 phase fault
simulation and 473 ms in the phase to ground fault simulation, the calculation results
obtained that the relay overcomes the fault faster with 125 ms fault to overcome the CB
fault for Trip simultaneously, 340 ms ongoing side ,and 669 incoming side as a back up
