Abstract :
The unbalanced power between generation and load demands allows the power system
stability to be disturbed. In this case, it is caused by generator outage condition which
causes frequency decays below minimum allowable threshold and one way to overcome
this in this thesis is by load shedding scheme. It is simulated at PT. Krakatau Daya Listrik
electrical system using Static Under-Frequency Load Shedding method. It uses loads
prioritization to be shed, in two scenarios, the essential loads are avoided from being
shed at all costs. First scenario is the GI CLG Baru outage and the second is GI CLG
Baru and GTG 2 outages. In each of these scenarios, the biggest system frequency
decrease reaches 47,858 Hz and 44,811 Hz, so that overload 27,203% and 53,016% of
the total load. After commencement of all Static UFLS steps, the results obtained in each
of these scenarios, overload 8,31% and 3,963%, the biggest system frequency decrease
reaches 49,007 Hz and 49,051 Hz, and steady state frequency 49,81 Hz and 49,951 Hz.
In conclusion, Static UFLS is one of load shedding method that can be applied on this
system in manual load shedding.
