Abstract :
Rigid pavement is one of the pavement that using portlad cement as the binder. In the construction of Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road along 61.8 km, the type of pavement that used is rigid pavement. The design result of the thick of rigid pavement by using AASHTO 1993 method in Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road is 27 cm. With a long enough and thick enough layer of pavement, a considerable initial cost of construction material is required. In this research, the thick of rigid pavement will be redesign by using NAASRA method. Based on the calculations of the thick of rigid pavement with NAASRA method, obtained the thick of pavement 24 cm. From the calculations of the initial cost of rigid pavement construction material with AASHTO 1993 method requires Rp. 22,056,679,259.0 and rigid pavement with NAASRA method requires Rp. 20,529,196,467.0. Based on the calculations of the initial cost of construction material, rigid pavement by using NAASRA method is cheaper in the construction of Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road.
