Abstract :
PLTU Teluk Sirih is of those equipped with CFB type, which are made up of three components of furnace, cyclon and backpass. The burning used bed material (coal, air, sand and limestone) that served to maintain longer and equal heat and equalizing in the furnace. The furnace uses a water wall tube to heat up water to produce steam, using the principles of radiation and convectioan. Often, therefore, the problem with this type of water is thinning and leakage because of the irritating nature of the bed material circulation in the furnace. The failure of plumbing thinning, wich occurs in water wall tube at the initial thickness of a 5 mm pipa, is reduced to 1 mm. Testing done in demaged pipa materials to determine the changes in hardness, chemical composition and micro structure. The result from harness testing were found in areas where hardness was thinned, marked by increased hardness value of 531 HV (the highest grade of hardness on the test sample. At testing the chemical composition?s got a percentage reduction in metal elements samples like carbon (C), Manganese (Mn), Phosphorus (P) and Sulfur (S), and the Silicon element (Si) increase in percentage. Whereas at the testing of micro-structures, it?s found that the proportion of normal samples and that have already failed in the form of, beginning to develop fasa pearlite on the already unsuccessful test samples, it?s marked by increasing rates of hardnress in the test sample.
