Abstract :
In the electrical system between the generating center and the load center, it is
generally separated over a long distance, this distance is what causes the voltage
drop. Transmission shrinkage / losses have several factors, including the factor that
the distance between the plant and the load center is too far. This study uses power
flow analysis and calculation of transmission loss coefficient (loss coefficient). Using
the calculation of the power flow of the Newton-Rapson method in the Equatorial
System, it can determine the magnitude of active power losses and reactive power
losses. The calculation of power flow in the Equatorial System is carried out in
several scenarios, namely scenario 1 condition without operation of the UPP GCL
PLTU, scenario 2 of the july-December 2022 operating pattern assuming the entry
of GI Sekadau and GI Sintang, and scenario 3 uprating and network configuration.
Based on the total active power losses of the Equatorial System channel from the
three scenarios used, it still gets transmission shrinkage within normal limits, namely
the threshold of transmission line losses of around 5-15% (Jaleani, 2013).
