Abstract :
The Cipinang Substation has a power transformer with a capacity of 60 MVA
which consists of several protection systems, namely 1 differential relay and 2
overcurrent relays (OCR). In ensuring the reliability of power supply to customers, a
protection that is able to work optimally is needed so that the electricity supply reaches
consumers without any obstacles or disturbances. So that things like this can be
prevented or minimized, it is necessary to set relay protection and coordination settings
between differential relays and overcurrent relays that are good and correct in order to
be able to protect transformers from short-circuit and overcurrent disturbances. The
results of the analysis carried out illustrate that the differential relay works as the main
protection in the event of a disturbance in the transformer protection area and for the
overcurrent relay it can be the main protection in the event of a disturbance outside the
transformer protection area. After doing the calculations, the OCR primary setting
current for the 150 kV side is 277.2 A and the 20 kV side is 2078.4 A with the TMS
value for the 150 kV side is 0.075 A and the TMS value for the 20 kV side is 0.175 A,
while the differential relay setting value is 0.16 A. and after a 3-phase short circuit
simulation using the ETAP application, the relay coordination runs optimally.
