Abstract :
Substations in the electricity system are part of a system or subsystem that functions to
transmit voltage from a high voltage level to a lower voltage level. Equipment at the
Substation installed in the Switchyard consists of the main and supporting
materials/equipment or accessories. The grounding system is part of the electric power
system which has the function of distributing to the ground in the event of a voltage or
overcurrent charge to minimize the disturbance caused, consisting of a grounding mesh
and a grounding rod which in determining the design is based on the maximum value of
step voltage and touch voltage. namely the voltage difference between the GPR
(Grounding Potential Rise). Based on the calculation results, the GPR value is 3318.9
so it is necessary to calculate the touch stress and step voltage. The 70 kV Labuan Bajo
Extension 30 MVA substation grounding system with a combination model of grid and
rod has been based on the IEEE Std 80-2013 standard with the calculation of the touch
voltage which is 530.18 V smaller than the permitted standard of 1581.9 V, voltage step,
which is 314.73 V, which is smaller than the permitted standard of 5661.3 V. Based on
the layout design of the substation and grounding calculations, it can also be
determined the Bill of Quantity from the grounding installation work at the 70 KV
Labuan Bajo Extension substation.
