Abstract :
This study discusses the application of Detecting Interests and Talents in High
School Students for Web-Based Lecture Majors Using the RIASEC Method, which can
provide an overview in planning majors for high school students with the aim of assisting
students in choosing college majors based on interests and talents high school students.
Errors in decision-making will have an impact on the students themselves resulting in a
decrease in the enthusiasm of high school students in carrying out the selected lecture
courses not based on their interests. One of the interest and talent detection methods used
is the RIASEC method. Calculations in this study use a decision support system (DSS)
with the calculation of the Probability Theorem. System testing uses the black box method.
The process of matching the validity of the value between calculations in the Interest
Search application using the probability theorem calculation is said to be valid if the
value of the comparison between variable one and the comparison variable is the same
as the probability comparison of variable one and the probability of the comparison
variable, then an accuracy rate of 100 % is obtained. These results prove that the
calculation of the Probability Theorem is appropriate for use in a website-based Interest
Search application so that it can help high school students of class XII in making the best
decision in choosing a major.
