Abstract :
The search system is one solution that can help in getting the desired information. With a search system, the information search process will be more efficient. A search system for drug information is needed because there are many types of drugs with various functions. For this reason, this research was conducted to apply the method to the search system. This study uses text mining to apply the cosine similarity method. By looking for similar keywords (keywords) and drug indications. Text preprocessing uses 4 stages, term weighting uses the TF/IDF method, equations use cosine similarity and testing uses experts. The trial data used in this study amounted to 10 drug data taken from 425 drug data. This research shows that the cosine similarity method can be applied well. This can be seen in the results of expert testing, because the expert's assessment in the search results was 80% and the suitability of the function of the drug with indications was 79%. The result of applying the system is to display the percentage of similarities in drug indications and drug functions. It is hoped that the results of this study will facilitate the search for drug functions quickly and accurately.
