Abstract :
The Low Voltage Connection Device functions is as adivider and protection in electric
currents. In this case, there was a Low Voltage Device that get fire due to a loose
connector on the safety components. After it get fire, the authorities had taken care of
it temporarily by only replacing the protection of NH Fuse rail, and then the Low
Voltage Device was operating again. However, by the condition, the other components
are also damaged too, so it should not be operating anymore. Based on this case, there
will be evaluation of the condition in each components in Low Voltage Connection
Device which still operating to see its operational feasibility. The purpose is to
determine the condition of the Low Voltage Device after burning, determine the
suitability of the components installed on it with the standards used, determine the
suitability of NH Fuse rating, and determine the operational feasibility of the Low
Voltage Device after burning. Using the direct observation method to collect data by
visual inspection to check the conditions and check the suitability of installed
components by standard SPLN D3.016-2013. The evaluation result, the condition of
the LV Device is damaged, most of it is charred, blistered, cracked, melted, dented, and
peeled off on the surface of the components which can cause and disruption, although
the suitability of the components installed in the field is mostly still in accordance with
standards. Under these conditions the Low Voltage Device should not be operated
again, so it can be said that it is not feasible to operate.
