Abstract :
Palm oil is one of the plantation companies in Indonesia that has the potential for new
renewable energy biomass. Biomass contained in the palm oil processing industry (PKS)
especially PT. Graha Cakra Mulia is a solid waste product from palm oil processing, solid
waste such as fiber, shells, and empty palm bunches, Where fiber and shell fuel is
obtained by going through several processing stations including, Loading Ramp,
Sterilizer, Thresser, Press, Dan Kernel where fiber fuel and shells are used as a source of
fuel for the plant while empty palm bunches are used as fertilizer in the plantation area of
PT. Graha Cakra Mulia. Research on the use of palm oil solid waste was conducted at
PT. Graha Cakra Mulia because it has a large waste production potential as an alternative
fuel source (Renewable Energy) where the production of solid waste palm fiber produces
12.5% every month, shells produce 5% every month and empty palm bunches produce
15% every month. From the data produced by palm oil solid waste meets the needs of
boilers with a processing capacity of 60 tons / hour by utilizing fiber and shells as fuel
sources, theoretically fiber waste produces energy of 407.000 GJ, shells produce energy
of 201.000 GJ and Empty Palm Bunches produce energy of 616.000 GJ during the period
January 2022 to October 2022, In this study using quantitative methods, this indicates
that the use of palm oil solid waste as a fuel source for new renewable energy in PT.
Graha Cakra Mulia can be a solution to reduce economic costs in PT. Graha Cakra Mulia.
