Abstract :
Electrical energy is becoming the essential needs nowadays. But because the electrical energy is used so often by human, so many electrical energies is being wasted mainly caused by human itself. It can be happened when human forgot to turn off some electrical devices such as lamps, AC, TV, and other electrical devices. It also happened in the meeting rooms or classes. When it happens in the office or campus, that can cause so much electrical energy to be wasted. The solution of this problem is to create device that can automatically cut off the current when the room is empty for some time or not being used. The device that can automatically cut off current is designed by connecting a microcontroller to an image capture device like webcam and circuit breaker that can be controlled such as a relay. To know that the device is working like how it should be, the device needs to be tested using some simulated condition. The simulation mentioned is room that not being used or empty and room that used or got some human inside the room. The counter used in this device is also accurate because the percentage of the counter to detect an empty room was 100% when being tested. After being tested, the device made can cut off current so that the voltage detected in the power outlet is 0 V when the room is empty for some time. Then when the room is being used or there are people detected for some time, the current is connected back again so the multimeter can detect voltage with the average number of 222,27 V.
