Abstract :
In the process of distributing electrical energy to get to the load, a reliable and sustainable
electric power system is needed. One of the disturbances in the power system that cannot be
avoided is the type of disturbance originating from the power transmission line. On the 150
kV network, the Riau subsystem belonging to UP2B, Central Sumatra, disturbances can be
calculated based on the results of the contingency analysis. Through the calculation of the
performance index (IP), can directly determine the type of disturbance that will occur. The
IP value obtained through the 1P1Q calculation method produces 19 contingency sequences
on the 150 kV network of the Riau subsystem. The highest contingency sequence for the
channel IP value is 0.2283 on the Kotopanjang - Bangkinang channel contingency and the
voltage IP value is 1.8104 on the Kotapinang and Bagan Batu channel contingencies
causing disturbances because they are transfer points between subsystems and are prone to
out of sync between the generator and the Riau subsystem . For other sequences, changes in
power flow and bus voltage do not endanger the Riau subsystem because the system
parameters are still within the allowable tolerance values. The Riau subsystem 150 kV
network has a fairly good system security. Of the 19 possible transmission line disturbances,
most of these schemes can keep the system operating under normal conditions. Only in the
channel contingency scheme does a voltage drop occur on the Kotapinang - Bagan Batu
channel due to the end subsystem of Riau subsystem.
