Abstract :
Circuit Breaker (CB) is a mechanical switch device with the ability to close, conduct or interrupt
load current both under normal conditions and under fault conditions in accordance with its rating.
to find out the condition of the CB, whether it is still feasible to continue operating according to
its proper function or maintenance is required. Maintenance is a method to determine the
feasibility of CB operation by carrying out electrical tests. There are three parameters that form
the basis for analysing the feasibility of the Circuit Breaker Switchgear 6 kV STG 1.0 PLTGU
Muara Karang. The lowest insulation resistance test results obtained were 368 M? with a
maximum leakage current of 0.0067 mA and still included in the "Good" category according to
the reference 1 kV = 1 M? with a leakage current of 1 kV = 1 mA. The results of the contact
resistance test (before) obtained R phase = 380 µ?, S phase = 600 µ?, T phase = 1560 µ? and
are included in the "Not Good" category because they are far from the reference value range. In
the instruction manual for GE power circuit breaker GEK-86132 it is stated that there is a feature
for adjusting the wipe spring and the results of the contact resistance test (after wipe spring
adjustment) obtained R phase = 38 µ?, S phase = 39 µ?, T phase = 38 µ? and it is included in
the category "Good" according to the nominal current reference of 2000 A of 25-50 µ?.
Simultaneous value obtained the highest open time value of 32.2 ms while the highest closing
time value is 51.4 ms and is still included in the "Good" category according to the reference of
32-45 ms open time and 35-75 ms closing time. The results of the Mean Inspection in September
2022, the 6 kV Hypoclorite Circuit breaker at the STG 1.0 PLTGU Muara Karang Unit were in
"good" condition so that it was declared feasible to continue normal operation
