Abstract :
A motor vehicle is used on land transport. Number of users of motor vehicles continues to increase, especially in big cities. Consequently jams occur frequently, especially at a crossroads. Therefore we need better regulation of traffic flow of vehicles on the road that can remain smooth. Traffic lights and play a role in directing the flow of vehicles in the intersection. The issues to be addressed by the traffic lights is how to set the path which must go and which path should be stopped. In addition, it is also a setting to determine the length of waiting time for vehicles stopped were comparable to the number of queues on the path. In this design compiler using Prototype Methodology. Implement the algorithm Linear programming on AVR microcontroller ATmega16, applying clockwise turn of the candidate in the form of green and red lights on each lane. The result obtained smart traffic light system is a dynamic and realtime which has a cycle time and phase are controlled from time to time during the 24 hours by the queue of vehicles with displacement based lights turn clockwise (clockwise).
