Abstract :
Weeding is an activity of removing library materials carried out by the library with
certain standards according to library policy procedures. The process of weeding
library collections is an activity that is not easy to do, because it must be done seriously
in considering the library materials to be weeded to prevent errors. Weeding is done
when the books on display are out of date, damaged books, books that are no longer
useful and the book with the most copies on the shelf. The algorithm applied to this
weeding system is the Fuzzy Logic Tsukamoto method. There are 6 aspects of
assessment that are used as input variables in the weeding process, namely the number
of pages that are not clean, the number of pages that cannot be read, bookbinding, book
covers and the type of paper used. Of the 5 input variables, 36 fuzzy rule-based forms
form linguistic rules to describe the relationship between the input parameters and the
expected output. From the tests that have been carried out on the book entitled
"Photoshop CS2 Selection Techniques" with the number of missing pages as many as 5
pages, the number of pages that are not clean as many as 5 pages, the number of pages
that cannot be read as many as 5 pages, binding of glue volumes (given a value of 4 ),
the book cover is soft (rated 4), and the paper type is HVS (rated 4) resulting in a final
score of 1 where the output is a book worthy of display.
