Abstract :
In the boiler there is a combustion process which is useful fot heating water and is changed in the form hot thermal steam which will be used as a rotary turbine fluid. The combustion process and also utilization of flue gas for preheating result in the content of ash produced and carried by combustion gases attached to the walls and pipe of the boiler pipe. In addition to overhauls, to maintain boiler performance from slagging and prolong boiler use,sootblower components are used. Sootblower utilizes latent steam from the superheater and is sprayed on the ash attached to a certain operating time. From the explanation above, the purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of operatio time of the sootblower on effectiveness of boiler pipes by calculating the heat transfer rate in the low superheater and the comparison of effectiveness of boiler pipes after the operation of the sootblower. It is expected that with this research, it can be seen effectiveness of boiler pipes that will increase with the effect operation time of the sootblower.
