Abstract :
The transformer is one of the main components in the distribution of electric power so
that the transformer is required to be stable when distributing voltage. On Load Tap
Changer is a transformer component that functions to adjust the voltage on the primary
and secondary windings. The use of electricity on the island of Bali is very high because
Bali is an international tourist area, so the distribution of electricity in Bali must be good,
especially in the areas of Sanur, Legian, Kuta, Seminyak, Denpasar, etc. When
maintenance was carried out in 2022 at the Sanur Substation by the South Bali ULTG
maintenance team, it was found that there was a decrease in the value of the Breakdown
Voltage (BDV) test result with a result of 25.20 kV while the standard of insulating oil
was > 40 kV. Carbon deposits were also found in the insulating oil of OLTC Transformer
#2 GI Sanur. Under these conditions, maintenance of the OLTC is carried out by means
of an Overhaul with the aim of knowing the condition of the OLTC and restoring the
performance of the transformer. This research uses quantitative methods by collecting
data through observation, interviews, and literature study. The results of this study
revealed that the Breakdown Voltage (BDV) value had poor test results and the oil was
black in color, then an Overhaul was carried out on the OLTC Transformer #2 GI Sanur.
During the OLTC Overhaul process, the results of the OLTC components were still in
good condition and the insulating oil was replaced. After the overhaul was carried out, a
BDV test was carried out with a result of 76.2 kV which was included in good condition
and testing on components inside the OLTC which had good test results. The results of
monitoring the performance of the OLTC after being overhauled for the last 2 months
stated that the OLTC was in good condition.
