Abstract :
The electricity distribution network at PT PLN (Persero), especially the Pasarwajo Customer Service Unit work area, has three feeders supplied from PLTMG 30 MW, PLTD Pasarwajo 5x1 MW and PLTM Winning 1.6 MW. In 2023 from January to March, it was recorded that there was one feeder named as Lasalimu feeder which had experienced 57 interruptions, some of which experienced a failure of protection coordination. This problem underlies this research with the aim of studying the protection system on Lasalimu feeders using ETAP 16.0.0 software. The method used in this study is a quantitative method. Based on the simulation, the short circuit currents of 3 phases, 2 phases and 1 phase to ground in the Lasalimu feeder are 778 A, 674 A and 377 A, while based on the calculation the results are 774 A, 670 A and 382 A. From the short circuit current value, t value of the OCR Lasalimu Feeder T setting is 0.256 s and GFR 0.269 s, the Walompo OCR Recloser setting is 0.154 s and GFR 0.189 s and the Siontapina OCR Recloser setting is 0.07 s and GFR 0.024 s. The simulation results of protection coordination at 30%, 60% and 90% of the channel length work selectively. According this simulation?s result, it can be concluded that overall the OCR and GFR settings are still in good condition. The difference between the simulation results and field implementation is caused by several factors such as load density, network operating patterns and conditions of protection equipment.
