Abstract :
The planned construction of 2 line bay extension Sandai at GI 150 kV Tayan is the
development of the electricity system in West Kalimantan. In the pre-construction stage,
planning the grounding system is the stage to find out how to plan the extension grounding
system and its influence on the existing grounding system. The research method used is a
quantitative method accompanied by a descriptive statistical approach, where data
analysis is based on calculations according to the IEEE Std 80 standard and the Cymgrd
Grounding application. Grounding extension system planning is carried out using 3
types, namely type 1 with a distance of 5 m, type 2 with a distance of 3 m, and type 3 with
a distance of 1 meter. From the results of the study, the planning of a type 1 extension
grounding system that is connected to the existing one is the ideal type with the use of a
more efficient earthing conductor and the 150 kV Tayan substation grounding system,
there is a decrease in the value of earthing resistance by 11.40% from a value of 0.456 ?
to 0.404 ? , for the touch voltage with a limit of 828.81 V, there was a decrease of 15.92%
from the maximum touch voltage value of 774.01 Volts to 650.82 Volts and for a step
voltage with a limit of 2967.23 V there was a decrease in the maximum step voltage of
14.31 % from 615.09 Volts to 527.08 V so that based on these results the earthing system
at GI 150 kV runs better and is safer for systems, equipment and people.
