Abstract :
PT Gunabangsa Teknik Industri which uses an electric compressor powered by a 3-phase
induction electric motor to produce compressed air, on a compressor machine where the
equipment uses compressed air as its driving force, so it is necessary to know the capacity
and working pressure of the compressor which is sufficient for the equipment to operate
properly. The required air compressor capacity is calculated by summing the air released
by the compressor to drive compressed air equipment with the amount of air out of the
compressed air system due to allowable leakage. With the air consumption used in blow
molding machines of 3000 liters/minute, the compressor capacity is suitable for operating
6 blow molding machines with a pressure of 7.2 bar. In this study, a 3-phase induction
motor is used in the compressor engine which can be adjusted by the inverter by changing
the frequency entering the motor. With the method carried out, namely taking data with
minimum and maximum motor rotation. The frequency set for data collection is 15 Hz to
50 Hz. The motor output power is 36.05 Kw to 181.09 Kw, with the highest efficiency
value occurring at a frequency of 15 Hz obtained is 74.64%. So the conclusion obtained
is that the magnitude of the frequency value entered through the inverter will also
increase the motor output power and the value of the motor rotation.
