Abstract :
The main source of electricity, namely PLN (National Power Plant) is not always
continuous in its distribution, one day a blackout will occur which may be caused by
interference with the transmission system or distribution system. To anticipate the
blackout, it is necessary to design an automatic control called Autamatic Switch.
Automatic Switch is a series of control switches for Battery Power with a Full Automatic
PLn. This tool is useful for turning on and connecting the battery to the load automatically
when the PLN goes out. When the PLN comes back to life, this tool will Transfer the
resources to the Load from the Battery to the PLN. Nowadays, technological advances
are growing rapidly, technology has become an inspiration so that life on earth becomes
lighter, easier and more practical. In this study, there is compatibility between theory and
application in the Automatic Switch work system in the trials that have been carried out
and get an overview of the performance when using a power source from a battery that
can operate ? 2 hours 10 minutes for working electrical loads, after that it will experience
total blackout. The results of testing the switching process between battery sources and
PLN with ATS can run automatically by obtaining a switching time of 0.045 seconds with
the switch condition from battery to PLN and from PLN to battery.
