Abstract :
Air Preheater is an air preheater before entering the combustion chamber by utilizing the flue gas as the initial heating. As one of the supporting components of the boiler, the performance of the Air Preheater affects the efficiency of the boiler. At PLTU unit 2 PT.PLN (Persero) Asam Asam Generator Unit has 2 Air PreHeater, namely Primary Air Heater (PAH) and secondary Air Heater. The Ljungstrom Air PreHeater (Secondary Air Heater) operates continuously during the unit operation. This condition lasts for months or even years, so there will definitely be a decrease in performance. This decrease in performance or performance can be caused by several things, for example impurity on the heat exchanger element and also leakage on the seal. In order to maintain the performance of the Ljungstrom Air PreHeater (Secondary Air Heater), the Overhaul activity was carried out. If there is a decrease in performance after Overhaul, it is necessary to do regular maintenance or replacement of the Ljungstrom Air PreHeater (Secondary Air Heater). In this study the calculation of the performance of Secondary Air Heater uses the Energy Balance method before and after the Overhaul. From the calculation results the efficiency of Secondary Air Heater has increased after overhaul of 8,753% and the effectiveness of Secondary Air Heater has increased after overhaul of 1,091 %, while for air leakage has decreased after overhaul of 0.19%.
