Abstract :
The reliability of a component is very influential on the efficiency that will be generated. The more reliable a component, the greater the efficiency. This study aims to determine the reliability of a component so that the component can be used for a long period of time. The method that can be used in this research is energy analysis and exergy. This energy analysis is used in finding the efficiency of a component. While the exergy analysis is used to determine the quality of component energy efficiency. One component that needs to be considered for its reliability is the Steam turbine. With the analysis of energy exergy and the calculation of the exergy destruction of a component, it can be seen the quality of its efficiency. The study results prove that in the component of the Steam turbine the greatest exergy destruction occurs at Low Pressure Heater with an average destruction of 7.05%. The destruction of exergy occurs due to several factors such as friction, phase change or heat transfer. The destruction of exergy can be used as a reference for the maintenance of the power plant components so that there is no overall reduction in efficiency.
