Abstract :
Boilers are one of the main components of a power plant. Therefore, boilers have a vital role in the cycle of a power plant. The longer the performance of the boiler will certainly decrease. Depending on the length of use and periodic maintenance on the boiler itself. At Tanjung Jati B PLTU there is a boiler with tangential combustion type system. This boiler has 4 burners located at each corner. In this study, we try to calculate the efficiency of a Tangential combustion type boiler system using operational data in January, February and March 2019. Boiler efficiency calculations in January have an average efficiency value of 88.93%, have an efficiency value at maximum power of 88.37%, and has a value of efficiency at a minimum power of 88.82%; in February has an average efficiency value of 88.73%, the maximum power has an efficiency value of 88.15% and the minimum power has an efficiency value of 88.16; and in March has an average efficiency value of 88.56%, the maximum power has an efficiency value of 88.38% and the minimum power has an efficiency value of 88.34%. This calculation uses the heat loss method with calculations that have been adjusted by the parties Tanjung Jati B PLTU and using ASME PTC 4-1998 standard.
