Abstract :
PT Banten, Banten Sustainable Energy has a capacity of 1 x 660 MW and is one of the power plants, which use water Preheater. Performance of Air Preheater which is a combustion air heaters have an effect on the combustion process in boilers, where water PreHeater heats the air to take advantage of the heat contained in the smoke gas combustion results. A problem that frequently occurs at Water PreHeater when operating i.e. damage from Expansion Joint material used to absorb the expansion due to heat or vibrations on the connection, so that the efficiency of the Air PreHeater is declining because it is not the maximum heat transfer processes that occur in Air PreHeater, then on this research will discuss about the Expansion Joint damage analysis to find out the cause of the damage of Expansion. to find out the cause of the occurrence of the damage is done the testing Temperature Tensile Test, Test and Test Presure to find out the quality of the material Expansion Joint. On this thesis in direct observation do cause of the occurrence of the damage to the Expansion Joint. Which results in getting is that damage also in influence by vibration in impact by the engine revolves around the Expansion Joint.
