Abstract :
Excess air is more air that is intentionally supplied to the boiler through a burner for perfect manufacturing. Combustion of fuel without sufficient air supply saves boilers, therefore excess air also uses safety boilers. Compensation for excess air is needed, compilation of excess air is too much, the resulting loss will increase because of the heat released by the flue gas and compilation of too much resulting loss also increases due to unburnt carbon. To analyze the need for excess air at the Banten 2 PLTU Banten in order to obtain an optimal value, the authors conducted an analysis of 10 boiler efficiency calculation samples at a time and 2 different units. Obtained for unit 1 has an excess air value of 11.7021% for efficiency values with an efficiency value of 84.8057% and unit 2 obtained excess air for 11.9403% for the highest efficiency unit 2 with an efficiency value of 84.1736%.
