Abstract :
The potential of solar energy in Indonesia needs to be fully utilized because the geographical position of Indonesia which is located around the equator which is getting the most sun exposure throughout the year. Utilization of solar energy can be done by using solar panels (solar module). In this thesis will be discussed the design of the implementation of solar power plants rooftop off grid in household scale. From the research result, the average of house with power 3500 VA tariff R2, capacity needed to install rooftop off grid PLTS is 6 kWp with PLTS consisting of 24 solar module with 250 Wp per module, 2 solar charge controller with 3,3 kW per SCC, 2 inverter capacities of 3,2 kW per inverter, and 8 pieces battery with capacity of 200 Ah. The investment budget for the design of the Rooftop Off Grid 6 kWp PLTS is Rp 208.797.117, with annual maintenance cost of Rp 1.947.734. The advantages of using the design of this PLTS guarantee the reliability of the prime but the weakness of this system has an operational cost slightly more expensive than the price offered by PLN
