Abstract :
Surge voltage is the voltage which can only be detained for a limited time. More voltage due to lightning surge on the power transmission line is one of the causes of interference that may cause protection failure and damage to the power grid. To overcome the voltage lightning surge so as not to damage the hight-voltage equipment that came from transmission line, then the arcing horn installation needs to be done on the transmission line to the substation. One of the most important parts in the substation is a transformer, therefore need to installed lightning arrester at the end of the transmission line and in front of the transformer. In this study, the author will do analysis of surge voltage that goes to substation 150 kV Tangerang Lama of transmission line. The result is an overvoltage from one pole to Lightning Arrester 692.119 kV, from pole two 531.86 kV, and from pole three 498,546 kV .The main objective of this research is to find out how much surge voltage coming from the transmission line towards a lightning arrester with method lattice diagram, and how to cope with the surge voltage.
