Abstract :
Power transformer is designed in accordance with IEC 354 with the ambient temperature of 20?, but operates on an ambient temperature of 40? in Indonesia, therefore transformer loading scheme has to be adjusted. The higher the rise of the surrounding temperature, then the shorter its operational temperature and the greater the transformer service lifetime shrinkage. Apart from that, there exist an effect coming from the loading scheme that causes heating which itself contributes to the decay. Since transformer is one of the main equipment in electrical power distribution, subsequently it is expected to work for a long period of time. Transformer service lifetime shrinkage is affected by winding isolation and transformer oil which function as coolant for the transformer?s winding. On the GIS Karet Baru found that temperatures were still safe under the dibatas of 98 ?, it is also influenced by the load under normal capacity of 60 MVA.
