Abstract :
Urban growth in Madura Island particularly in Pamekasan, leads to the ever-increasing electrical energy consumption. This rise of energy demand needs to be supported by an adequate supply of energy and electrical distribution capacity that should be able to satisfy the increasing demand. In this thesis, electrical load growth forecasting will be done for the long-term to anticipate load growth for a minimum of the upcoming 10 years using Linear Regression method. The load estimation is dependent on variables such as number of electrical consumers, number of actual connected power and total population. The calculation is then analysed against power transformer capacity. The real power (kVA) capacity of power transformer calculations are then further analysed with active power (kWatt) from the load forecast calculations. From the calculations, it is discovered that by 2021, uprating will need to be done as the result of power transformer on Pamekasan substation already running on 80% of its capacity, amounts to 84,691% on transformer 1 and 78,117% on transformer 2.
