Abstract :
Electrical energy is a necessity in today's modern era. Economic growth and the development of the times resulted in increasing electricity demand every year. The 5 MW Solar Power Plant on Sumbawa is a plant projected to operate in 2019. The Sumbawa PLTS will be interconnected with the existing 20 kV system with several connection point options. The choice of this option is important because to find out which option can make the existing system still in normal condition. Option-1 is the Sumbawa PLTS connected to the nearest GI with a carrying wire length of 6 km and using a type of conductor AAAC 50 mm2 and option-2 is the Sumbawa PLTS connected to the nearest distribution feeder from the plant with 1 km carrying wire conductor type AAAC 50 mm 2 with one circuit configuration. Studies conducted include power flow, voltage drop, losses, and short circuit. By conducting the study, it can be seen the operating status of the system before and after interconnection. The operating status of this system includes voltage and short circuit conditions. The study shows that on the technical side, connecting PLTS to the nearest GI (option -1) from the generator is the best choice because of the voltage is 18,742 kV, the absorbed power is in 4621 kW, -j638 kVAR and short circuit also in good condition that not exceeding 25 kA
