Abstract :
Partial discharge is a failure of insulation on the cable caused by damage to insulation on the cable. This is an indication of the isolation disturbance on the cable, especially on the old cables and the cables with insulating material that contains voids, which triggers a discharge in insulation. Partial Discharge needs to be detected to avoid further isolation failure and to find out the condition the latest cable that is suitable for use. By using the OWTS (oscillating Wave Test System) method that can record partial discharge activity on a cable by giving a DAC (Damped Alternating Current) voltage to the cable so that it can read the disturbances that occur along the cable. Eong feeder is a feeder who will be tested because he has experienced the disorder several times for 2 times in January. With the OWTS method, calibration and measurement are carried out with a test voltage from zero to 2xUo, so the R, S, and T phase conditions have a PD value of 5000 pC on the Eong feeder with a distance of 20-30m, which is already in bad condition and very bad, so has an estimated effective usage time of about 3 - 12 months of active use again.
