Abstract :
Indonesia is a country located in the equator where the source of solar energy is very abundant and available throughout the year, so it is very appropriate if taken steps utilization of solar radiation energy by converting it into electrical energy with the use of solar cells or photovoltaic. Solar Power Plant has been increasing year by year. One of the cities that build PLTS is Palembang. Palembang city has potential to developing the development of PLTS. With its natural state, Palembang is a tropical region with an average temperature of most in this city area around 21o-32o Celcius, with rainfall around 22-428 mml per year. PLTS that built in Palembang City is located in Jakabaring District. Astronomically, this district is in position 3o0'37 "South Latitude and 104o47'28" East Longitude. At the location, there were 5248 solar modules installed, with each module capacity is 315 Wp with type of the modul is poly-crystalline produced by SHARP. The locally installed module has an optimum power 1.6 MW. To achieve optimal power 2 MW, required the addition of solar modules as much as 2624 modules. So the total number of modules is 7872 modules.
