Abstract :
The demand for electricity supply in Indonesia is very important for the community. These demands must be fulfilled with varying values according to customer usage. To meet the electricity supply needs, the generator will supply electricity in the form of MW and MVAR that must be kept stable above the demand value. At Muara Karang PLTU itself has a problem with the generator, namely MW and MVAR hunting when supplying at 160 MW. By using data from a Distributed Control System (DCS) when hunting and testing online to anticipate low unseen loading, it was found that the error occurred due to piston erosion which moved the governor valve based on the characteristics formed due to the highest error of 4.16%, hunting the highest is 0.5% and the lowest hunting value is 0.27% on GV-RH. Which has an impact on the inability of the block 45 generator to work synchronously, causing damage to the generator. To eliminate this hunting, a piston must be replaced in the governor valve.
