Abstract :
Optical fiber as a medium which delivery is aided by light waves where these fibers are made of glass with small and light diameter sizes also have constraints caused by various optical losses. Optical fiber losses have a connection to the installation of fiber optic cable communication systems. As a transmission medium, it is necessary to perform a link budget calculation to monitor the feasibility of optical fiber. This thesis discusses how to calculate input power and actual output power based on data and SLD (Straight Line Diagram). This calculation is based on the distance from Ancol Station to Branching Unit and continued with distance from Branching Unit to repeater and distance between each repeater. This calculation is also to calculate the attenuation generated at each distance between devices. With the cable attenuation value of 0.02 dB / km and attenuation value of each repeater and BU of 2 dB it can be calculated the value of the attenuation of each and the value of input power and actual output.
