Abstract :
Indonesia is a tropical country that has only two seasons, summer and rainy season. As a tropical country Indonesia has high solar energy potential with high average daily radiation. This potential can be used as an alternative energy source that is cheap and available throughout the year. Therefore the application of Solar Power Plant technology (PLTS) to utilize the potential of solar energy available in certain locations is the right solution. Floating PV is a system where solar panels are designed to float above the surface of the water, and a new method for the generation of solar energy that utilizes the available water surface. This thesis will analyze the economics of floating PV and gound mounted PV and analyze the potential for floating PV development in the Cirata reservoir area. The initial investment of floating PV construction is Rp. 10,919,000,000 while ground mounted PV is Rp. Rp.9.077.500.000. Operational cost and floating PV maintenance of Rp. 972.425.405 while ground mounted PV is Rp. 808.424.912. The array area needed for floating PV construction is 879.3 m² and the distance between each array is 1.83 m. PBP floating PV is longer than PBP ground mounted PV.
