Abstract :
In 3 phases system, transformers unbalanced load very often occur especially on low voltage distri-bution system. It happen because electricity load that?s not the same or a lot of addition on loads that doesn?t consider the unbalanced load in the system. Transformers load allocation on R, S, and T phase should balance, but in reality there will be unbalance. The results are there will be overload on every phase or even on transformers. Furthermore there will be more losses in the transformers and the system. Because of that, unbalanced load problem should be minimized to reach optimum performance. From the result of distribution transformers measurement on GYGN substation in PT. PLN Cirebon area at peak load, we can conclude that the substation already had overload on one of three phases. Then we did optimization with make balanced load on the secondary winding of distribution transformers. After some measurement, we got 78% of balanced load with details on every phase such R=77%, S=74%, and T=81% and 17.6% of unbalanced load.
