Abstract :
Generator is the main part tool of generation system which has different characteristics in the protection system and operation. Some failures that occur during the generator operation are single phase-to-earth short circuit failure, and three phases short circuit failure which is the highest level of short circuit failure. To avoid those failures, a protection system is needed one of which is using differential relay. Differential relay operates really fast and does not need time delay. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the differential relay setting of the generator in PLTU Banten 3 Lontar affecting the power generation stability, and to calculate the amount of conducted current on differential relay. Methods used in this thesis are literature review, interview and observation, data collection and analysis.The calculation of differential relay setting is 0.3 A while 0.46 A is the test result.
