Abstract :
Lightning is a high voltage dan current wave form which is a natural phenomena that can not be avoided. Looping of charge from cloud to cloud or from cloud to ground and instead causes lightning to strike on adjacent objects. When an airplane is passing through the air, it is possible that the aircraft is near the area of lightning strikes. When lightning strikes an aircraft, a lightning current will flow on the body of the aircraft that will cause physical damage. If lightning occurs near an object, including an airplane, the occurrence of electromagnetic wave radiation on the object. The outer structure of the aircraft composed of conductors may enable the penetration of electric flux. The penetration of this flux occurs by means of direct strikes of lightning on the fuselage and radiation around the aircraft. Therefore, in this case we need a lightning protection on aircraft that is the fuselage body skin made of Alluminium 2024-T3 which will drain the charge from the fuselage to a tool called static discharger and then will drain the charge back into the air.
