Abstract :
Power generation is the process of converting primary energy into mechanical energy of the generator generator, where the next mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy by the generator. However, in its operation can not be separated from the interference especially short circuit. One of the tools of electrical network protection is the power breaker. The larger the power system the greater the short circuit current that occurs in the system. When large short-circuit current and long enough to cause damage to electrical equipment, In this case, in need of re-analysis of the capacity of power breakers in order to secure the power system against hazard disturbances, especially short-circuit symmetric and short circuit asymmetric. With the current calculation The short circuit that occurs in a power system, it can be determined the capacity of the circuit breaker through symmetric and asymmetric short circuit. In this thesis will discuss the calculation of power side breaker capacity 150 kV and voltage side 15 kV STG 1.0 PLTGU Muara Karang Block 1.
