Abstract :
Permanent magnet is component that is needed by many companies in Indonesia, especially that works in electronics sector, such as electric motor, speaker, KWh meter and others. Besides in electronics sector, magnets can also be used on water meter counter, compas or can also be used for toys. In the manufacture of permanent magnets, one of the most important processes is magnetization. Magnetizer in this study were made by using capacitor charge and discharge system. The magnetizer will be controlled by using arduino microcontroller so that the magnitude of voltage for magnetization can be adjusted as needed. To adjust the voltage, the arduino microcontroller will control the length of charging time to the capacitor because the circuit includes a transient circuit where the large of value will change with time. After the charging time has been completed then the charge on the capacitor is released to the coil load to form a magnetic field used for magnetization. By using a 370 ohm resistor, to get 300 Volts voltage it takes 0.585 seconds of charging time with a calculation of field strength is 217.4678 Gauss, for 400 Volts it takes 0,995 seconds of charging time with a calculation of field strength is 289,9571 Gauss, for 500 Volts it takes 2,167 seconds of charging time with a calculation of field strength is 362,4464 Gauss.
