Abstract :
Electrical energy is an important human need at this time. Therefore, it requires continuity in the distribution of electrical energy. The role of power transformer in electrical energy distribution system is as electrical equipment that convert voltage from high voltage to low voltage and reverse. The operation of the power transformer may be disrupted if there is kind of outside interference or within the transformer itself. So, this requires a safety transformer againts the interference that might happen. One of the power transformer safety equipments is called Restricted Earth Fault Relay which is used as a safety equipments againts short-circuit phase to ground. After comparing the data of Restricted Earth Fault Relay settings installed on the transformer and the data from the result of short-circuit phase to ground. After comparing current relay setting, result of the calculation is for short circuit of the ground phase 13,8 kV, current setting of 0,17 A while the relay already installed of 0,4 A. Whereas the disruption the occurred at 150 kV, in calculation current relay setting is 0,15 A while the current setting is attached by 0,15 A. The conclusion is that the relay still able to withstand the short current circuit and no change or reset.
