Abstract :
Energy is one of the basic needs of life, so power must be provided with good quality. therefore the medium voltage network has an important role in the distribution of electric power. In fact the common disorder, major disruption is short-circuit current interruption. This disorder can cause damage to electrical equipment so that it can extinguish the overall system. To address this caseneed the protection system is sensitive, selective, rapid, reliable and secure so as to eliminate and reduce the impact of disturbance. The type of protection used to overcome is overcurrent Over Current Relay (OCR) and Ground Fault Relay (GFR). The relay works by reading the input of the current magnitude and compared with the value of the setting. In the relay setting is also applied to the time delay that occurs coordination to relay the others. The results proved that by using OCR and GFR coordination system is applied, is able to overcome the short circuit current in the electric power system.
