Abstract :
The archipelago is an area that is still difficult to access, with a small population of about 1000 households and the location is still scattered. Energy demand for electricity in the archipelago continues to increase, requiring a power plant in
accordance with the conditions of the archipelago. In the case of power plants in remote areas of Indonesia using Diesel Power Plant (PLTD), due to low investment
cost and relatively short development process, the operational cost of the diesel is very high because it uses fuel oil. In addition to using diesel, there are several
islands in Indonesia that use Solar Power (PLTS), because there is still a large area available. However, the development of PLTS requires a large initial investment cost. In this thesis, the author will discuss the feasibility study of
Westkers Mini-Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) for the archipelago area in order to know the financial and operational feasibility of PLTMH Westkers when compared
with PLTD and PLTS. Based on the research results obtained that financially the cost of energy from PLTMH westkers is Rp. 694, - / kWh and operationally PLTMH Westkers requires only a small amount of water.
