Abstract :
The development of housing development in Tasikmalaya increased very rapidly. So that the demand for electrical energy increases. To overcome these problems it is necessary to do a good planning in building a new distribution network so that the development, operation, and maintenance of the system running well. Planning is needed with regard to the development objectives of the distribution system that must meet several technical and economic criteria. This distribution system planning should be done systematically with an approach based on load forecasting to obtain an optimal service pattern. There are several load calculations in the planning of the calculation of customer load, load characteristics, network patterns, voltage drops, and selection of new distribution substation location. The amount of power that is distributed to every housing unit in Melati Mas Residence is 1300 VA with the number of house units in Melati Mas Residence, 352 housing units. From the results of data obtained voltage drop on the melati mas residence housing of 22.384 volts (5.881%) or still below 10% of operating voltage . This planning process is influenced by the situation and conditions in carrying out development in accordance with the target time specified previously.
