Si.Keywords: Compareand Contrast (CAC), Educational comic, Reading Interest, Concept Mastery.This research aims to developBiology learning materials using compare and contrast learning model (CAC) witheducational comic to improve students reading interest and concept mastery.This research used 4D development model that has been tired out on 30 studentsof ten grade students SMAN 3 Surabaya with onegroup pretest and posttest design. The learning materials that have been developed include: (a) syllabus, (b) lesson plan, (c) thestudents work sheet, and (d) educational comic. Data of research were gottenfrom validation, observation, test, questionnaire, and self-test. The result ofthis research showed that (a) validation of learning materials were between validand extremely valid, (b) the teaching and learning activities ran well, (c) studentsreading interest had increased 31% with good and very good categories, (d) students conceptmastery increased with N-gain 0,71 in high category, (e) educational comic legibility were easily understood (79%), (f) student'srespond positively to learning that has been implemented (93% -100% ). Based on the results of the analysis and discussion above,can be concluded that the Biology learning materials with compare and contrast(CAC) model based on educational comic were properly used to improved studentsreading interest and concept mastery. Penelitian ini menggunakan modelpengembangan 4D dan diujicobakan pada 30 siswa kelas X SMAN 3 Surabaya dengandesain ujicoba one grup pretest andposttest design. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan meliputi: (a)silabus, (b) RPP, (c) LKS, dan (d) komik edukasi. Data penelitian diperolehmelalui metode validasi, observasi, tes, angket dan penilaian diri. Analisisdata secara kuantitatif-kualitatif dengan hasil: (a) perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berkatagori antaravaliddan sangat valid, (b) kegiatan pembelajaran terlaksana dengan baik dan sangatbaik (c) minat baca siswa mengalami kenaikan 31% dengan katagori baik dansangat baik, (d) pemahaman konsep siswa meningkatdengan N-gain 0,71 berkatagori tinggi,(e) keterbacaan komik edukasi berkatagori mudah dipahami (79%), (f) siswamemberikan respon positif terhadap pembelajaran yang telah dilaksanakan(93%-100%). Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan pembahasan diatas, disimpulkan bahwaperangkat pembelajaran biologi model compareand contrast (CAC) berbasis komik edukasi yang dikembangkan layak untuk meningkatkanminat baca dan pemahaman konsep siswa.
